ENMS FACS students participate in a Food Challenge each semester. To complete the challenge, students must prepare one entrée using staple ingredients—those consistent across kitchens—and incorporate ingredients from the pantry, ensuring the inclusion of at least one item from each of the five food groups: grains, protein, fruit, vegetables, and dairy.
Two staff members volunteer as judges for each class period. It's a wonderful activity for all involved!

Advanced FACS 8th graders have been busy learning all about beef—from nutrition and cuts to selecting recipes and planning their own market orders. Thank you to guest speaker Molly Barker for sharing about her local beef cattle farm!
Students also visited Barker’s Farm and Cedar Creek Meats in LaOtto to see both cattle care and beef processing firsthand. A big thank you to Cedar Creek Meats for donating the beef used in our labs!
To finish, students prepared a variety of beef entrées, putting their learning into action. This experience was made possible through the Beef in the Classroom grant from the Indiana Beef Cattle Association.

Congratulations to our April Students of the Month!!

It's also a great week to honor the wonderful women that work in our cafeteria day after day to keep all 700+ students fed!

Thank you to these two guys and all they do for our school! Happy Principal's Day!

The Advanced PLTW class visited ENHS today for a presentation from the robotics club. ENMS students toured their workspace, learned about the various tools and safety features of each, and discussed the coursework the 8th graders will need to take if they want to pursue a pathway toward engineering and robotics. It was an enlightening trip!

Here is the cast photo from last weekend's smash hit in the ENMS Drama department: Too Many Detectives at the Murder Mansion. Mrs. Mettert and the kids lit the stage and brought the house down in the spring play! Congrats on all your hard work!

Today was a sweet success in Mrs. Roger’s Advanced Family and Consumer Science class! 🧁
Our talented students took on a fun challenge—bringing 2nd graders’ cupcake designs from Avilla Elementary to life. From creative colors to imaginative toppings, each cupcake was a unique masterpiece inspired by the younger students’ ideas.
To celebrate their hard work and baking skills, everyone enjoyed the delicious creations together. Great job to all involved for combining creativity, teamwork, and a little bit of sugar to make the day extra special!

After studying the Cuban Missile Crisis, Mr. Vaught’s class put their knowledge to work by building rockets out of 2‑liter bottles and launching them. A fun, hands-on way to bring Cold War history to life and spark some serious excitement outside the classroom!
