Check out these incredible bakers! Thanks to the Bake for Good program, our ENMS FACS students learned the art of baking bread. They dove into the math and science of bread making in class, then put their skills to the test with King Arthur ingredients. Armed with their newfound knowledge, students worked together to 36 loaves of bread! The bread was shared with Common Grace food pantry, our students are spreading kindness, one loaf at a time. 🍞🌟 #BakeForGood #KingArthurBaking @

Today, our 8th graders attended JA Job Spark. Students explore industry clusters (for example: advanced manufacturing, IT, health sciences, construction, etc.) and learn about the kinds of jobs available in those sectors locally. It was a great experience for all!

On Friday, ENMS took a small group of 7th and 8th grade students to visit Impact Institute. Impact introduces students to various vocational opportunities. This experience is designed to introduce our students to career paths and hands-on learning opportunities they can apply for starting their sophomore year. We want to send a special thank you to Damian Disque for guiding the tour!

Mrs Rogers and Mr. Vaught’s classes partnered up to help students worked together to research and cook a traditional dish from another culture, connecting their work to the Indiana 7th Grade Social Studies standards on world history and geography. Each group was given a country, learned about its customs, history and explored how geography, trade, and cultural exchange have influenced that country. Students then prepared an authentic recipe to share with the class and presented on the historical and cultural significance of their dish. This project helped students meet standards related to understanding global cultures, identifying human–environment interactions, and recognizing how traditions reflect a society’s history and values—all while developing teamwork and communication skills in a hands-on, engaging way.

On the Thursday before break, we had our annual fall pep rally organized by Mrs. Melcher. It was a great making lots of noise for our fall athletes and having some time to scream, yell, dance and have fun!

As Mr. Field's 8th grade social studies classes move into the Colonial America time period, early factories used waterwheels to power simple machines inside. Students had to build a functional waterwheel that stood on its own and spun when water ran past it.
