We will be doing ILEARN 4 times this year! 3 will be formative checkpoints (Oct., Jan., Mar) and the summative will be in April. This week, we will be doing the ILEARN practice test on Wed., Oct. 1. Please make sure your child has their device, it's charged and they have WIRED headphones. All of these things are needed to make sure things work correctly. Our first ILEARN checkpoint will be on October 21 and 22.

All assignments from the virtual day on Friday, 9/26/25 will be due on Tuesday, 9/30/25 by the end of the school day.

When there’s a mess, it’s all hands on deck around here. Luckily, we have Mr. Cain who is always ready to help out (and dressed appropriately on NEON Day). Safety first!!

Flu Shots available at the Middle School on 10/31/25. See the image with more details on this convenient offering.

ENMS Unified Knights joined Wayne Center and ENHS for a fun day for their annual Bike Day. Students gathered together today to bike laps to support inclusion in schools. Students got to ride bikes, play cornhole, get their face painted, and participate in the dunk tank. It was a great day!

As Mr. Field's 8th grade social studies classes move into the Colonial America time period, early factories used waterwheels to power simple machines inside. Students had to build a functional waterwheel that stood on its own and spun when water ran past it.

This past week in Mrs. Grossman's class, her learning partners class did a week long project of making cake pops. They broke into three groups for three separate days of constructing the cake pops. Group 1 made the cakes, group 2 mixed the cakes and frosting together to make the pops, and group 3 dipped them in chocolate. Every student in the class got a turn to participate in the final product and sample the cake pops and then rated each flavor to see what flavor was liked the best, and the least. It was a great activity for showing how it is important to practice the skills of budgeting, grocery shopping, navigating the kitchen environment, kitchen safety and cleanliness, and cleaning up after cooking.

Last week in Mr. Vaught's 7th grade Social Studies class, students created their superhero climate project. Students demonstrated their understanding of geography by creating a unique superhero designed to live in a specific climate zone. Each student was assigned a climate and tasked with developing a superhero whose powers, appearance, and lifestyle reflected the challenges and opportunities of that environment. Along with their creative design, students wrote an essay explaining the characteristics of the climate, how their hero’s abilities connected to those conditions, and how the hero would adapt to daily life there. It was fun to watch the kids be creative and excited in the halls and MakerSpace as they made their projects!

We'd like to say thank you to Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance for the support of the volleyball team this year! It's huge help to have some reliable stats created with the new iPads and app! THANK YOU!

Our fall Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming up! We hope to see you here to discuss your child's growth.

Mr. Gammon's Psychology class spent the last week coming up with board and card games to create for their unit. They had to create the game itself, the rules, and tie it to something they just learned about. They then had to come up with a commercial to sell the game to their classmates, before getting able to sit and play the games with their classmates. Some games included a Go Fish inspired trivia game, a version of Who Meme'd it?, and a Monopoly styled game.

This past week in Mr. Field's class, students were building sailboats to tie in with European exploration and how the explorers used sailboats to find faster routes to Asia.

Congratulations to our August Students of the Month! Keep up the great work kids!

Last week, in Ms. Martin's class, students played some fun games to help them remember their states and capitols. Learning and laughs ensued.

It's September and the art students are creating some beautiful pieces!
